A free, interactive and hands-on introductory workshop for elementary teachers who are new to Engineering is Elementary workshops.

Elementary (Grades 1-5) Program:

Exploring Engineering with Engineering is Elementary (EiE)

· Develop your own understandings of engineering & technology, and how to integrate it into your already full curriculum

· Explore Engineering activities through EiE Units that tie into science standards

· Receive a FREE EiE teacher guide ($40 value) and Certificate of Attendance.

· Free, optional post-implementation workshop. Wednesday, May 7, 3:30-6PM with additional unit teacher guide provided.

*Engineering and Technology standards appear in the widely adopted:

§ MA Curriculum Frameworks; National Science Education Standards, Standard E, grades K-12 (National Research Council); and

§ Benchmarks for Science Literacy (American Association for the Advancement of Science)

Chapter 3, “The Nature of Technology,” and Chapter 8, “The Designed World.”

§ Standards for Technological Literacy (International Technology Education Association)
