This Four-day workshop will give you the opportunity to develop a unit of study on Ancient China. . The presenter’s materials include time lines, graphic organizers, hands-on activities and instruction on how to construct a midden for a simulated “dig” so students can work as archaeologists.
Session 1: The focus of this day will be to become acquainted with China now and its dynasties through the use of a timeline and archaeology.
Session 2:.This day will explore the arts and inventions and the powerful Qin Dynasty.
Session 3:.On the third day we will use literature with accompanying math projects.
Session 4: We
will explore mythology and philosophies of this interesting culture
Karen Paterson has participated in two study tours
through China and has visited schools and various sites including traveling
along the “Silk Road.”
