Dr. Christiane Northrup opens SSC Series

SALEM -- Women's health pioneer Christiane Northrup told a sold-out crowd at the O'Keefe Sports Complex that each woman is her own best doctor. Leading off the 21st season of the Salem State College Series, Northrup said that each individual knows her own body better than a doctor could. "You have to be in tune with your body's signals" she told the attentive audience.

Northrup used a sense of humor and visuals to deliver her message that medicine and healing must acknowledge the unity of the mind and body. She spoke too of the powerful role of the human spirit in creating health.

Northrup also answered several questions from the audience.
