Student Employment Office
Student Information
We can help you look for a job . . .
All qualified SSC students can seek work through our Student Employment Office. Jobs both on and off-campus are available.
Off-Campus Work
If you're looking for work in the Job Locator and Development Program, scan the job listings on the JLD bulletin board in the Administration Building. Make note of the job number you're interested in, take it to SEO, fill-out a request form, a Student Personal Data Sheet [PDF 79KB], and they'll supply employer info so you can contact.
On and Off-Campus Work
If you're looking for a job in the Federal College Work-Study Program and/or the Institutional Employment Program (03), you'll need to have already applied for Financial Aid and then take the following steps:
Required Documents
Fill-out federally-required hiring documents at the Job Orientation Session scheduled during your SSC Orientation or right at SEO prior to the start of work.
- Student Personal Data Sheet [PDF 79KB]
- W-4 [PDF 56KB]
- M-4 [PDF 55KB]
- Direct Deposit Form
- I-9 (Must be completed in person)
- The I-9 requires two forms of identification: a driver's license or student ID, and a social security card or a birth certificate. All hiring forms must be completed in the SEO and appropriate identification must be presented at that time.
Complete list of I-9 acceptable documentation [PDF 72KB]
Finding an FCWS or 03 Job
Scan the Student Employment Directories located on the bulletin boards in SEO or by the Registrar's Office in the Administration Building. Or, check out the complete jobs list online.
If you are offered and accept the job, the supervisor will give you a corresponding Job Number. Take that number to SEO and request a Job Authorization Form. Then get the form signed by your supervisor and returned to SEO. If you have multiple jobs, you must be authorized for each job. NOTE: You may only have one FCWS job. If you are hired into an FCWS job and then find another, you must terminate the first. You may have more than one Institutional job.
Continued Employment
Please note that you must be authorized for each Academic Year and Summer Session. You will not be entered into the payroll system until SEO has received an Authorization Form for the current academic year or summer session.
Now you can start working!
