Residence Life
Facilities
Salem State features four residence dormitories that house a total of 1,400 students. Our facilities are also available for Summer Housing.
Bowditch and Peabody Halls were recently renovated, including new elevators and lobbies, as well as beautiful landscaping. Both ground floor lounges include a kitchen area, a large-screen TV, video games, and pool, ping-pong, and foosball tables.
At Bates, new stoves, refrigerators, and cabinets were installed in many of the kitchens. Recreational equipment at Bates can be found in its Commons Building, including a new pool table.
The Central Campus Residence Hall includes fitness equipment and plasma TVs on the first floor. Central Campus has received numerous awards for its forward-thinking green design. Residence Life is headquartered at CCRH.
Laundry facilities are located in all four residential areas. All washers and dryers are coin - and card-operated. More information about residential living can be found in The Guide to Living on Campus, which you’ll receive when you move in.
