PLEASE NOTE: These are priority application deadlines. Fees will increase to $100 for all applications received after the priority deadline.

Applications for degree for both spring and summer 2012 degree candidates will be available online through Navigator on December 1, 2011. To access the graduation application, log into your Navigator account and click on your Academic Home page then choose Apply for Graduation. Please note that the $50 commencement fee will apply regardless of whether or not you plan to attend the commencement ceremony. Bills will be sent via email in the spring semester.

Make sure that you select the term in which you expect to complete all degree requirements as your Expected Completion Term. If you will have completed all degree requirements by spring 2012 you will simply select spring 2012 as your “Expected Completion Term.”

PLEASE NOTE: If you wish to participate in the May 2012 commencement ceremony and will have met the Eligibility Criteria to Participate in Commencement Prior to Degree Completion, as noted below, then you must select summer 2012 as your Expected Completion Term.

Information about the ceremony, graduation tickets, senior week activities, and caps and gowns will be forthcoming during the spring semester. Please keep your permanent postal and email addresses and telephone information updated in Navigator to ensure that you do not miss any important information that may be sent to you throughout the spring semester regarding your graduation status.

Eligibility Criteria to Participate in Commencement Prior to Degree Completion
(also known as “walking”, or permission to “walk” in the ceremony)

Students who will complete all requirements during the summer term may have the option of participating in the prior May commencement ceremony if they meet the guidelines established below. Please note that permission to walk in commencement does not imply completion of degree requirements. Degrees for summer graduates will be conferred in August and will be mailed in October, regardless of whether the student participates in the ceremony the prior May.

Undergraduate students
-          must plan to complete all remaining degree requirements in the summer 2012 term
-          must have 12 or fewer credits to complete as of the end of the spring 2012 semester
-          must have a 2.000 or above cumulative GPA at the end of the fall 2011 semester

Graduate students
-          must have all non course requirements completed (i.e. comp exams, portfolio, thesis)
-          must plan to complete all remaining courses in the summer 2012 term
-          must have 8 or fewer credits to complete at the end of the spring 2012 semester
-          must have a 3.000 or above cumulative GPA at the end of the fall 2011 semester

Not attending the commencement ceremony held in May?

These students will have their diploma mailed. Students who complete their degree requirements in the spring will receive their diploma in the mail by late July; those who complete in the summer will receive their diploma in the mail by late October; and those who complete in December will receive their diploma in the mail by late March.

Commencement Information

Commencement information will be mailed to all students who have submitted an application for degree during the spring semester. Information will also be posted online on the Commencement website as it becomes available.
