Most people agree that the SSC Campus Police are quite visible on campus. They are there, directing traffic at 8am, having lunch in DAKA, and occasionally, issuing parking tickets. Many of us do not get the opportunity to meet officers like Lt. William Anglin and if we do it's not always under the best circumstances. But Lt. Anglin and the rest of the SSC police do more than we will ever know. In addition to "having to catch the bad guys" SSC police officers Operation I.D., RAD or Rape aggression Defense, and Personal Safety tips and courses.
With the help of Lt. Anglin, SSC is able to get the newest light weight bullet proof vest and the Centrum gold series, a new radio that will allow campus police not only to communicate with other local police departments but with the Essex County State Police.
Lt. Anglin has been the unofficial operations manager at AAC since 2000.

In addition tot he 12 years that Lt. Anglin has been with the SSC Campus Police, he also has over 30 years of law enforcement experience. A graduate of Northeastern University and the FBI Police Photography School, Lt. Anglin came to SSC as a 2nd shift sergeant in 1987. Throughout his tenure at SSC, he has seen some good changes and some not so good.

Lt. Anglin says "If we helped one person, we did a good job; if we didn't, there's always tomorrow."
He prides SSC for training and staffing some of the best-qualified officers in the country within the campus police.
SSC has had the opportunity to train the following police departments: Burlington, Lynnfield, Marblehead, Methuen, Salem, Swampscott, and the Massachusetts State Police.
Campus Police is no stranger to feeling the effects of state budget cuts, but with the help of grants, Lt. Anglin is hopeful that the Campus Police will "move onward and upward."
He is also very pleased to share that SSC has just hired three qualified officers who have impeccable backgrounds in law enforcement.
The Campus Police wants the community to have enough trust that they are not only there to protect, but also talk and educate.
