The Nursing Resource Center was visited by students
from Revere High School as part of career day on February 1, 2000. Edna
Chesna-Serino, R.N., vice president of the Revere Rotary Club, sponsored
this trip to Salem State College for students interested in a nursing
career. Edna stated that "students interested in a nursing career have
found visiting Salem State College extremely informative and rewarding.
The program has succeeded in increasing a student's interest in a nursing
career".
Linda Frontiero, staff assistant for the Nursing
Resource Center, gave the students a tour of the multi-media learning
center for the School of Nursing, and the clinical skills practice lab
in HB 202. A demonstration of the various multi-media equipment in the
Nursing Resource Center was also provided by Linda. Edna and Linda, both
alumni of Salem State College, discussed the multitude of career opportunities
available for nurses in diverse settings, and Salem State College's ability
to prepare students for a rewarding nursing career.
