Dr. Susan Anderson published her research "Critical Thinking Skills of Faculty in Baccalaureate and Masters Nursing Programs" in the Korean Journal of Thinking and Problem Solving, October, 1999, 9(2), 51-62. Professor Carol Cirone is continuing her course work in the PhD program in gerontology at the University of Massachusetts/Boston. She was recently inducted into the National Academic Honor and Professional Society in Gerontology, Sigma Phi Omega, Gamma Upsilon Chapter at U/Mass Boston on April 26, 2000. |

| Dr. Joanne H. Evans attended the 25th International Stroke Conference sponsored by the American Stroke Association, held in February in New Orleans, Louisiana. She continues to serve on the National Advisory Health Care Panel for Stroke Connection, the educational program branch of the American Stroke Association. | ||
| Professor Linda Goodale was a panelist at North Shore Community College on April 26, 2000. She was a local representative at the Hospice Foundation of America Seventh Annual Living with Grief Teleconference hosted by ABC News Correspondent Cokie Roberts. Professor Goodale is a member of the Board of Directors at Hospice of the North Shore in Danvers. Students from the School of nursing also attended. In addition, Professor Goodale was the Chairperson for the annual Tree of Lights campaign of remembrance for loved ones. The event raised over 60,000.00 for Hospice of the North Shore. | ||
| Professor Marie Jensen will attend a conference for Nurse Educators in Practice Settings and in Schools of Nursing entitled, "Towards Excellence in Promoting Productive Learning" jointly sponsored by Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center and Saint Anselm College to be held in Kennebunkport, Maine in May. | ||

Professor Margie Laccetti presented her paper entitled; "Intuition: A Concept Analysis" at the Sigma Theta Tau Research Symposium, Beta Zeta Chapter, at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst on April 5th. She will also be attending the International Oncology Nursing Society Congress on May 11-14th, in San Antonio, Texas. She is also enrolled in a course entitled Optimism, Humor and Cognitive Restructuring at Harvard Medical School during summer session. In addition, Professor Laccetti is working on a research article entitled "Intuition: A Concept Analysis" which has been accepted for publication in Advances in Nursing Science Journal in the Fall issue. |

| Professor Leah Sak gave a presentation at a Multidisciplinary Grand Rounds Conference held at North Shore Medical Center on March 8, 2000. Her presentation "Patterns of Precise Limitations: Time Management Revisited" addressed the application of various time management principles in the practice setting. | ||
| Professor Kathleen Skrabut presented a poster session at the Mosby Faculty Development Institute held January 3-5, 2000 in San Diego, California. The poster entitled "Development of a Part- time Clinical Faculty Orientation Handbook for a Baccalaureate School of Nursing", was presented to more than 300 national and international nurse educators in attendance at the conference. Professor Skrabut reviewed findings of two recently completed research projects at a School of Nursing faculty development "brown bag lunch" held on February 28, 2000. The study results pertained to the relationship of students' academic success in the nursing program as related to SAT scores and science course grade point averages. These data will contribute to on-going discussions of the impact of revised state college admission standards and School of Nursing progression policies. | ||
