The keynote address was enthusiastically presented by Lucielle Grudenskas RN MS GNP who is a doctoral candidate at the University of Massachusetts/Boston. Ms. Grudenskas is employed at the West Roxbury VA Medical Center as a Geriatric Nurse Practitioner. She completed the BSN program at Northeastern University and her MS at Boston College in the Nurse Practitioner Program.

Her experience includes nursing education as a clinical nurse specialist and as a faculty member at Mass Bay Community College. In addition, she was a clinical advisor for graduate students at Regis College. She was also the nurse manager in

the Post Anesthesia Care Unit at Atlanticare Medical Center. In her inspiring address Ms. Grudenskas discussed the challenge of caring for our growing population of elderly patients, utilizing holistic nursing - and the importance of interdisciplinary partnerships with other health care providers to promote health and wellness. She explained that "caring is the art of nursing - the essence of the profession. Nurses learn to combine caring with science to maximize patients' wellness."

The class gift was a donation to the Worcester Fireman's Relief Fund.
