Salem State names W. Neal Fogg director of institutional effectiveness and planning
Salem State University announced today the appointment of Dr. W. Neal Fogg to the newly created position of director of institutional effectiveness and planning. Dr. Fogg joins Salem State from Northeastern University, where until recently he served as director of enrollment research in the office of the senior vice president, enrollment management and student affairs. Fogg assumed his new position on May 31.
“As Salem State looks to increase enrollment and support student success through innovative and effective retention strategies,” noted President Patricia Maguire Meservey, “Dr. Fogg’s expertise and extensive experience will be critical. His knowledge of analytic research, along with his demonstrated success in managerial decision-making, program development, operations, and analyses in support of strategic planning will be of inestimable value to the university as it continues to set institutional goals and objectives.”
A recipient of bachelor’s, master’s and PhD degrees in economics from Northeastern University, Dr. Fogg’s particular areas of expertise include assessment of higher education markets, new student enrollment strategies, student retention research, and outcomes assessment. Prior to his work in these areas, Dr. Fogg was a researcher at the Center for Labor Market Studies, where he focused on the impacts of education, training and literacy on the employment and earnings outcomes of youth.
Dr. Fogg resides in Weymouth, Massachusetts.
