Conference will address challenges of service men and women returning home

The Friends of the School of Social Work at Salem State will host its 15th annual Spring Professional Development Workshop on Saturday, March 26 from 9 am to1 pm at Veterans Hall in the Ellison Campus Center.

“Homecoming as Safe Haven or the New Conflict Zone: Attachment and Detachment in Military Families” will addresses the challenges faced by service members and their families when they reunite following tours of duty in a combat zone. The workshop will be presented by Smith College School of Social Work professor Kathryn K. Basham. Attendees have the opportunity to earn three continuing education units (CEUs) or three professional development plan (PDP) credits.

The cost is $30 for general admission or $15 for current Salem State University students.
