The library will borrow materials from other libraries through interlibrary loan (978-542-6501). This service is available only to members of the Salem State College Community. The library is a member of OCLC, a worldwide network which provides access to the collections of academic, public, and special libraries throughout the world. The library also provides ILL services for materials located in the online catalog from other NOBLE libraries. NOBLE ILL is done by means of e-mail and fax and is expedited by a truck delivery system. The NOBLE database offers access to 2.5 million items. In addition to the electronic forms here, requests may be made in person at the library and through e-mail. Forms are available at the Circulation Desk. Patrons must have their ID validated each semester before requesting materials. E-mail requests should be sent to the ILL Department (moreland@noblenet.org). All information required on print forms is necessary for e-mail. Students may request up to five titles at one time. They must wait until all borrowed books have been returned before requesting other ILL's. Sometimes there is a fee involved, depending upon the policy of the lending library. ILL is reserved for Salem State College faculty, staff, administration, and students. |
