The Library provides instruction sessions designed to teach information competencies to students, faculty, and staff. In each session students learn skills that allow them to access and evaluate information. Sessions are tailored to the needs of each course and students. The most effective instruction occurs when these sessions are linked to a well-defined assignment and offered at the time when the students are working on that assignment. Library instruction sessions are conducted in the Harriet Laura Martin Room on the first floor of the Library by the Reference Area. Eleven computer workstations are available for hands-on use during the sessions. Library instruction sessions may also be held at campus computer labs or smart classrooms. To schedule an instruction session conducted by a professional librarian, please contact one of the librarians who conducts instruction. |
