Laptop Initiative

Technology is a vital part of learning both in and out of the classroom. As such, in the Fall of 2005, SSC began implementation of a laptop computer requirement for all incoming freshmen and qualifying transfer students.

When used with our wireless network, students can work on their laptops anywhere on campus. Another benefit for students is the ability to take online or hybrid courses, which require frequent computer access. Students are also praising their new capabilities in accessing online registration from their laptops, effectively ending long waiting lines to sign-up for courses.
