Departmental Mission Statement
"The faculty of the Department of Foreign Languages strives to share with students and the community at large a life-long appreciation for multilingual, multicultural, and global endeavors. This commitment is the foundation of its teaching and interaction with students in undergraduate and graduate level programs and services. Through the offering of a diverse range of courses in foreign languages, cultures and literatures, the Department promotes intellectual, esthetic and personal development. The Department enthusiastically supports the mission of Salem State College and its School of Arts and Sciences to offer broad-based programs which meet the educational and professional needs of the community."
