French Study Abroad Opportunities

for Salem State College Students

 

Summer in Québec City: Start learning French or continue your French studies this summer! Earn 6 credits during a 5-week immersion program (early July-early August) at the prestigious Université Laval in the heart of French-speaking Québec. Language programs available for beginners through advanced language students (complete the 101-102 sequence, the 201-202 sequence or upper-level culture and language courses, including the possibility of Business French), undergraduates or graduate students. Business internships or volunteer projects possible. Salem State students will be accompanied by Dr. Blood, who will provide support services, organize excursions, and offer tutoring, as needed. Accommodations in dorms or in host families. Approximate cost (tuition, room, board): $1,500. Semester Abroad in Caen, France: Study French language and culture at the Université de Caen on the Normandy coastline in northern France! Language programs for all levels available for the fall term (Oct-Feb) or spring term (Feb-June). Accommodations in dorms or host families. Approximate cost (tuition, room, board): $3,500 per semester. Intensive summer courses and four-week summer business internship certificate program also available. Promenade des Anglais - NiceSummer, Semester or Year Abroad in France: Through the College Consortium for International Study, many other options are available! Study French in Chicoutimi (Québec), Annecy (France-Alps region), Nice (France-Riviera region), Avignon> or Aix-en-Provence (France-Provence region). The IPAG program in Nice specializes in International Business and offers courses such as Intercultural Management and European Economy. The IAU program in Avignon/Aix-en-Provence focuses on art history and culture and offers a special summer studio art program as well. All programs offer French language instruction. Costs and dates vary. MBA Exchange Program in Montpellier, France: The Salem State College Business School operates an exchange program with the École Supérieure de Commerce (Sup de Co) in Montpellier, France. Open to Business students, this exchange offers the opportunity to complete a “double diploma” in which student participants earn both American and European Business degrees. Montpellier, a beautiful small city located on the Mediterranean coast in Southern France, is also the location of European headquarters of IBM and other international companies.
