Nu, her sister and a friend (who was the emcee at the Vietnamese ceremony).

The emcee gave introductions to both sides of the family and explained the proceedings to all present in both languages. It was indeed a multicultural wedding which integrated many customs from both cultures.

If this ceremony was held in Vietnam there would have been a second reception for the groom's side of the family and another gathering at the groom's family house as well. Nu is an American now and has adapted the ceremony to fit her own practical needs as well as her new country.
