Honors Program

Eligibility

The Honors Program is open to qualified first-year students in every major. Highly motivated students with superior SAT scores, grade point averages, and class rank standings are invited to apply.

The minimum suggested standards for eligibility to participate in the Honors Program are:

An SAT-verbal score of 600 or better, a combined SAT score of 1660 or better, and an overall GPA of 3.3 or better in college preparatory high school courses.

An SAT-verbal score of 580 or better, a combined SAT score of 1660 or better, and overall GPA of 3.5 or better in college preparatory high school courses.

Currently enrolled students & transfers

Currently enrolled students and transfer applicants should have an overall college GPA of 3.5 or better and fewer than 35 college credits.

Not Qualified but Feel You Belong?

If you don't meet the qualifications yet feel that you belong in the Honors Program, please explain you circumstances clearly in the statement accompanying your application. If a letter of reference is not included in your application to the college, please send at least one to the Honors Program directly. We recognize that arbitrary cut-offs do not serve the college’s best interest. Space in the Program is limited and the students are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, so early application is recommended.
