Direct Entry / MS - Nursing
The Direct Entry-MSN program is designed for college graduates who hold a bachelor's degree in a field other than nursing and want to pursue nursing as a second career.
Cohorts begin each May, and students do classes and clinicals for the first 15 months on a full-time basis during the day, in the evening, and on weekends.
This is not a Nurse Practitioner Program: Students who complete 56 nursing credits (including the 4 credit prerequisite pathophysiology course) will earn the equivalent of a bachelor's degree in nursing and will be eligible to sit for the NCLEX-RN licensing examination. After achieving registered nurse licensure, students will complete graduate coursework. The graduate portion of the program is offered on a part-time or full-time basis and can be completed in two years.
The application deadline is January 15, 2009. Please note:
1) applications will be reviewed in March 2009 for Summer 2009 admission.
2) there is no early admission to the program.
3) students must meet the criteria for admission to the Graduate Program in Nursing.
