Achieving Licensed Mental Health Counselor Status
The Master's Program at SSC is geared towards preparing its graduates to become licensed Mental Health Counselors in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. To achieve that goal, students need to fulfill classroom and field-based requirements to receive their M.S., and then can fulfill post-graduate clinical requisites and take the state licensure exam.
Graduate School Requirements
  • Complete course work in the program with grades of B or better
  • Complete satisfactorily a practicum consisting of a minimum of 100 hours
  • Complete satisfactorily an internship consisting of a minimum of 600 hours
  • Take and pass comprehensive examinations administered by the Graduate School
