C.A.G.S in Education
The Salem State College/Northeast Consortium Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies (CAGS) in Education is a thirty-nine (39) credit program which offers a balance of courses including foundations, contemporary issues, current learning theories, curriculum and instruction, leadership issues, innovative teaching strategies, and action research.
The program is highly relevant to the goals of productive thinking, effective communication, lifelong learning, preparation for work, social responsibility, and the acquiring of essential knowledge set forth in the Massachusetts Common Core of Learning and Curriculum Frameworks.
Candidates may choose from two program strands: Innovative Practices for those focusing on curriculum and instruction; and Educational Leadership for those pursuing school leadership and administrative roles.
