|
The honors program is open only to seniors with at least a 3.0 GPA over-all. Candidates for departmental honors in the Geological Sciences shall fulfill the All College honors requirements as well as departmental requirements and specifications.

| Geological Sciences Alumni |
|
Each year we graduate many excellent students who either entered directly into the work force or continued on to graduate school.

| Earth Science Association |
|
The Earth Science Association is a student organization open to any Salem State student interested in the earth sciences.

| Marine Geology Research Lab |
|
Professor James Cullen maintains an active research program in marine science. Over 25 students have been employed through grant monies acquired by Dr. Cullen and have competed directed studies projects under his direction in paleoceanography.

| Chebacco Lake Research |
|
This project, which is under the auspices of the Department of Environmental Management, is to design a lake management program to protect water quality, control the growth of nuisance aquatic vegetation, enhance and protect alewife and other fisheries habitat, and improve public safety and recreational access to the lake.

| Student Research |
|
Students interested in research either become involved with faculty research (e.g. Chebacco Lake Project or Marine Science Lab) course related research (Coastal Geology beach studies), or pursue independent projects.
