The Earth Science Association is a student organization open to any Salem State student interested in the earth sciences. Throughout the year the Association sponsors field trips, lectures, and social events in cooperation with the Department of Geological Sciences. Fossil and mineral collecting trips, hikes in the White Mountains, local geology field trips, and excursions to museums are common weekend activities. Trips to such places and the Basin and Range, Hawaii, Iceland, the Grand Canyon and Florida are typically planned for Spring break.
