Facilities services is the maintenance and service organization that provides preventive maintenance, housekeeping service, grounds maintenance, electrical, carpentry, painting, locksmith, plumbing, and heating ventilation and air conditioning services to the campus community. We are also responsible for Salem State University's utility budget, utility consumption and energy conservation programs. We routinely identify projects that qualify as bona fide energy reduction efforts resulting in a timely return on investment to the university. We also participate in on-campus recycling.
Requests for Services
Call our HELP line during business hours for facilities-related emergencies. Personnel will be dispatched immediately for emergencies such as leaks, broken glass, non-hazardous spills.

Facilities is the only department authorized to procure and install university signage. Salem State University has a graphic standard and a master plan for the placement of all way-finding signs so as to ensure a consistent and predictable way-finding pattern and to reduce the amount of damage to building exteriors and interiors as a result of arbitrary sign installation: interior signs may not be mounted on doors; exterior signs may not be drilled into bricks, concrete or other building envelope material.
