Massachusetts Children's Book Award

Requirements for Participation

The Massachusetts Children's Book Award Program, sponsored by Salem State College, motivates children in grades 4, 5, and 6 to read quality literature. Teachers or librarians across the Commonwealth of Massachusetts may register to have their classes or libraries participate in the voting in the spring. Children must read at least five books from the current MCBA Master List to be eligible to vote. The registration form needs to be submitted no later than December 1st.

Registration is required each year to participate. Ballots for voting will be mailed in late January. To receive confirmation of registration, please enclose a stamped, self-addressed postcard with your registration. Confirmations will be mailed in the fall. (Confirmations are optional.)

I/we plan to participate in the Massachusetts Children's Book Award Program.
