This year the Economics Club gained a new co-advisor, Prof. Kevin Beckwith. Dr. Siden continued as co-advisor, but will step down in 2007-2008.
The Club participated in two economics contests this year at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. Sponsored by the Center for Economic Education at SSC, four students competed in the Fed Challenge, a regional contest for college students on Nov. 21, 2006. The Salem State team consisted of Isaiah Hull, Michael O'Brien, Richard Lane and Kent Leung. They gave an excellent presentation and placed above some prestigious Boston colleges.
On March 16, 2007, Dr. Siden and Isaiah Hull and Charlie Doherty participated in another contest at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. The contest, the Economics Challenge, was among local high schools.
