Salem State College Winter Technology Camp on WebCT
January 8-11, 9:00-2:30, Central Campus. Snow Date, Jan 12.
No experience necessary. Open to all faculty. Limited Enrollment.
This 4 day session will introduce you to WebCT and best practices in integrating WebCT into your course. If you would like to start integrating WebCT into your course this spring, this camp will give you all you need, including time to work on your own course with lots of technical and pedagogical support on-hand. If you are teaching a hybrid for the first time in the fall of 2008 this could be just the jump-start you need. Don't wait. Space is limited.
The WebCT Technology Camp will consist of hands-on guided learning in the use of WebCT, demonstrations of best practices using WebCT, supported work time during which participants work on their own courses with immediate help available for technology and pedagogy questions, and brainstorming sessions, so participants can share goals and concerns specific to their courses. Participants will complete WebCT assignments as a teacher and a student in order to understand the teaching process from both sides of the screen.
Participants receive a $500 stipend, lunches and refreshments. As attendance at all sessions is mandatory, the stipend will be awarded only to those participants who are present for the entire workshop. Applications due December 1!
