Laptop Recommendation

Salem State College freshmen and all transfer students with less than 12 credits are required to purchase a laptop computer (see salemstate.edu/laptop/ for more information.) Communications majors are encouraged to purchase Macintosh laptops as we use Mac-specific software in our computer lab. The Dell laptop offered by the college will satisfy the laptop requirement, but students in our program tend to prefer the Macs as they can share files on their laptops with the computers in our lab.

• 60 GB HD
• 1GB SDRAM
• Wireless internal or external Airport or Airport Extreme
• 12" or 14" Display
• Combo Drive
• Battery - minimum performance 2 or more hours
• Microsoft Office Suite - Campus standard
• Antivirus software
