Salem State Professor Honored by Springfield College

SALEM, Mass., Oct. 28, 2005 - Springfield College recently presented Salem State College professor Steven Dion, of Guilford, Conn., with its annual Young Alumnus Award.
Teaching in his fifth year at Salem State, Dion is the health and consumer science concentration coordinator of the Sports, Fitness and Leisure Department. He received his undergraduate degree from Springfield College in 1995 and his master’s in 1997.
“It was an honor to be recognized by my peers,” Dion said. To be nominated was one thing but then to win was humbling.”
The Young Alumnus Award was established by the Class of 1966 in 1974 and is presented to a graduate in the 10th reunion class. The award recognizes professional excellence and outstanding service to the College, community, state, and/or nation.
