SALEM - Officials at Salem State College will dedicate a room on the college's new Central Campus in honor of two alumni from the Class of 1962, Walter and Sally Cuffe of Lynn, at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, June 9.
The college is recognizing the Cuffes for their commitment to the community and to Salem State. "Walter and Sally's selfless devotion to their alma mater has taken on many forms over the years. They have always been there for the college when they were called upon," said Salem State President Nancy D. Harrington.
"We appreciate the education we received at Salem State. That is what motivates us to give back to the school," the Cuffes commented in a written statement. "We typically don't seek publicity for what we do. However, in this instance, we hope that reading about this will prompt other alumni to give back."
Walter and Sally Cuffe own and operate the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home in Lynn.
