Three Limited Edition, Historic Prints Available for Purchase at April 5 SSC Series
Salem, Mass. - On Tuesday evening, April 5, diehard Red Sox fans will have a unique opportunity to buy a bit of historic Fenway history. As part of its second presentation this year, which features Pulitzer Prize-winning author David Halberstam talking on "Lore and Legends: The Boston Red Sox," the SSC Series will also offer attendees a chance to see the World Series trophy and a chance to purchase one of three historic prints from the Boston Public Library's extensive Red Sox collection.
The large, matted photos are from the Leslie Jones historic Red Sox photo collection at the Boston Public Library, which has been compiling Red Sox memorabilia for 150 years. Its collection is currently comprised of over 33 million items documenting the history of the Boston Red Sox and Fenway Park.
A portion of the proceeds from sales of the prints, which include "Big Crowd at Fenway: 1912 World Series," "Close Play at First (1934)" and "Fans at Fenway Watching From Billboard Supports (1937)," will benefit both the Boston Public Library and the Salem State College Foundation. This arrangement is being made possible by i-concepts of Newton, Mass.
For further information on ticket availability for the Series presentation, please call the box office at 978-542-5555 or order online at www.salemstate.edu/series.
