Salem State hosts Wellness Fair, 5K road race

SALEM- The ninth annual North Shore Wellness Fair and 5K Road Race/Fun Walk will take place on Sunday, April 10 at the Salem State College's O'Keefe Center on Canal Street. The event takes place rain or shine and begins promptly at 9 a.m. The race ends upon the last runner or walker crossing the finish line, while the Wellness Fair continues until 2 p.m.
Participants in the road race are encouraged to register before Tuesday, April 5. The registration fee before April 5 is $12 and $15 thereafter. All pre-registered walkers and runners will receive a free T-shirt. Participants and can pick up their numbers between 7 and 8:30 a.m. on race day. Awards and prizes will be presented immediately following the race.
The Wellness Fair will take place throughout the day, offering attendees free massages, cholesterol screenings, fitness assessments and health information. The fair and race are sponsored by Salem State's Sport, Fitness and Leisure Wellness Center, the City of Salem, The Salem News and the Swampscott Whole Foods Market.
