McMahon granted tenure at Salem State

SALEM – Stuart McMahon of Salem, a professor in the sports management program at Salem State College, has been awarded tenure.
McMahon holds a doctorate degree in sport and recreation administration from Temple University's Fox School of Business. He played an important role in the national approval of Salem State College’s sports management program by the North American Society for Sport Management. Salem State is one of only 36 approved undergraduate programs in the nation.
Originally from Glasgow, Scotland, McMahon is a former Scottish Junior and Senior National Champion in gymnastics. He was also the team captain for Scotland in many international gymnastics competitions.
McMahon came to the U.S. on a gymnastics scholarship. He was the assistant coach for men’s gymnastics at Temple University, where he helped produce three national NCAA Division I champions.
He hopes to develop contacts in the Boston area and create an internship opportunities for Salem State College students.
