SALEM – Debate teams from nine area high schools took part in the High School History Conference at Salem State College on Wednesday, May 19.
High schools taking part in the conference were from Rockport, Saugus, Georgetown, Pentucket Regional, Ipswich, Salem, Danvers, Lynn Classical and Lynnfield.
In welcoming the debaters, Salem State College president Nancy D. Harrington asked that each student consider Salem State in the college plans.
Sponsored by the Salem State College History Department, the conference is an annual event during which students from local high schools discuss five questions about current events, both international and local, and present arguments for and against each issue.
