SALEM - The Department of Accounting and Finance at Salem State College announces its Graduate Certificate in Financial Planning (CFP) program.
Dr. Diane Lapkin, Vice President of Academic Affairs, comments, "We are very proud of this accomplishment, as Salem State College will be the first state college in the Commonwealth to get its graduate certificate program registered with the board for Certified Financial Planners."
The program was developed in response to the growth of the financial planning profession and the lack of public educational programs in this field on the North Shore. By registering the program with the CFP Board, Salem State is providing its students with the opportunity to take the certifying examination conducted nationwide. Passing the exam will give Salem State students additional credentials that are highly valued by the members of the financial planning community.
The Department of Accounting and Finance at Salem State College is a division of the School of Business. The School of Business has a new multi-million dollar building and an excellent reputation among employers in the region.
