Harrington visits 60 alumni teaching in Salem

SALEM – Sixty of the Salem State College's alumni who are members of the City of Salem School Department turned out to meet college president Nancy Harrington on Wednesday, March 3 at Salem High School.
Harrington told the gathering she was proud of the work the teachers are doing and added that she was thrilled to see a large turnout. "I'm impressed that so many of you were able to make it down here after a long day of teaching," she announced.
Recently Harrington met with 18 Salem State alumni who are working on the City of Salem police force. An estimated 80 percent of Salem State College's graduates work in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts . Many of those graduates choose careers in teaching, nursing and criminal justice.
