SALEM - Registration for the Seventh Annual Wellness Fair Road Race and Fun Walk at Salem State College is under way. A highlight of the annual North Shore Wellness Fair, the race/walk will begin at 9 a.m. Sunday, April 27 at the O'Keefe Sports Complex on Canal Street. Check-in time for the runners is from 7 to 8:30 a.m. The first 100 entries will receive a free T-shirt. Joe Dunn, Sr., the fair and race co-ordinator, reports that awards will be presented after the race and a $50 cash prize is offered to a runner who breaks either the men's or women's course record. John Ayers, 36, of Beverly, holds the men's record with a time of 15:10 posted last year. Leslie Gold, of Canada, is the current women's record holder with a time of 17:47 posted in 2001. Last year, Jennifer Crawford, 30, of Salem, won the women's division with a time of 18:17. Registration is $12 before 6 p.m. Friday, April 18, and $15 thereafter. Checks, payable to Salem State College, can be mailed to the Salem State College Wellness Center, 352 Lafayette St., Salem, MA. 01970-5353.
