VITA program at Salem State College helps senior citizens

SALEM, Mass. -Students of the Voluntary Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program at Salem State College will be volunteering their time to do senior citizens taxes free of charge.

John Lannan, chair of the accounting and finance department at Salem State College, heads the VITA program. For the 2002 tax year there are 15 students: Allison Askew, Yanyu Li, Marc Tranos, Danielle DeFretias, Marie Glorieux, and Jaime Robillard all of Salem, Rhea Hanson of Medford, Debbie Margiotta of Gloucester, Fernanda Musetti of Beverly, Tina Cherubin of Peabody, Sophath Seang of Lynn, Beatrice Waithira of Lowell, Julis Wakaba of Malden, Dan Delloiacono of Everett, and Ralph D'Elia of Woburn who are all accounting majors and volunteering their time for the program.
