SALEM - Renowned nurse theorist Sister Callista Roy will speak at Salem State College's Charlotte Forten Hall at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9.

A highly regarded writer, lecturer, researcher and teacher, Sister Roy is a professor and nurse theorist at the Boston College School of Nursing. More than 100 of her research projects have been published and she is in the process of a study on the recovery of patients with head injuries.

Sister Roy credits her success to her family, religious commitment, teachers and mentors. She said a deep spirit of faith, hope, love and commitment to God and service to others was central in her family of seven boys and seven girls.

Sponsored by the School of Nursing at Salem State College and the North Shore Medical Center, Sister Roy's talk is free and open to the public. Attendees may also qualify for CEUs. For more information and to reserve a space, call Graduate Program Coordinator Kathleen L. Skrabut at (978) 542-7018 or email nursing@salemstate.edu
