SALEM, Mass. - Douglas Larson, of Lynnfield, a professor in the accounting and finance department at Salem State College since 1979, has been recommended by college president Nancy Harrington for appointment as acting dean of the School of Business.

According to Diane Lapkin, interim vice president of Academic Affairs, "Professor Larson has been a distinguished member of our faculty and has served as Chair of the Accounting and Finance Department for many years. We are confident he will provide excellent leadership to the School of Business during this interim appointment."

Harrington's recommendation of Larson has been forwarded to the Salem State College Board of Trustees for approval.

Larson would replace Elizabeth Haran, current Acting Dean of the School of Business. "Dr. Haran's dedication and devotion to the college and to the School of Business are recognized and very much appreciated," Lapkin said.
