| SALEM - Annual homecoming events are scheduled at Salem State College beginning Thursday, Oct. 16 and ending Saturday, Oct. 18. A Viking spirit contest will take place Thursday in the Martin Luther King Room on the college's North Campus at 4 p.m. The alumni donor reception will follow at Central Campus at 6:30 p.m. and Michael Anthony's Extreme Hypnosis Show will be featured in Veteran's Hall at 8 p.m. On Friday, a guided tour of the Phase One building project on Central Campus will run from 3 to 6 p.m. to be followed by the Varsity Club Hall of Fame in the Dining Commons on North Campus at 6 p.m. On Saturday, a first-year families reception in Veterans Hall will launch festivities on Saturday at 10 a.m. There will be a friends of the Campus Center reception at the Ellison Campus Center at 10:30 a.m. Alumni and family members are invited to join the Viking Spirit and Homecoming Banner contestants in a parade from the Peabody Hall to the O'Keefe Athletic Complex at noon. A barbecue at the O'Keefe Complex will follow the parade at 12:30. Alumni can then attend a volleyball match between Salem State and Mass Maritime Academy and a men's soccer game between SSC and Worcester State College at 1 p.m. A field hockey game against Westfield State will conclude the festivities at 4 p.m. For more information call the Alumni Affairs Office at (978) 542-7530 or visit the college's Web site at www.salemstate.edu/alumni/homecoming/ |
