“We at Salem State are proud that our alumni play a key role in the community,” Harrington said. “Throughout this year of celebration, the story of Salem State College will unfold in a myriad of ways. People now realize that this college, beginning in 1854 with 16 female students and one faculty member in one building, has evolved to play a major role in today's society.”

Ed LeClair and Carol Facella, past chairs of the college's criminal justice department, and Anne Sullivan, the current chair, joined Harrington on her visit.
