SALEM, Mass. - For the record, there's $100 waiting at the finish line of the Sixth Annual Wellness Fair Road Race in Salem Sunday, April 28.

According to Joe Dunn, Sr., co-ordinator of the Wellness Fair/Road Race at Salem State College, there will be a cash prize for anyone who breaks the course records. Dan Smith's time of 15:50 in the 5K race set a new course record for men last year while Leslie Gold's time of 18:47 set the standard for women. "There's $50 waiting for the new record holders in either bracket," said Dunn.

Prizes will also be awarded to the top three finishers in seven different brackets.

The 5K race, which runs in conjunction with the North Shore Wellness Fair, begins and ends at the O'Keefe Sports Complex on Canal Street. In its sixth year, the race is expected to draw a field of about 150.

Start time is 9 a.m. with check-in time for the runners from 7 to 8:30 a.m. The first 125 entrants receive a free T-shirt.

Registration is $10 before 6 p.m. Friday, April 19, and $12 thereafter. Checks, payable to Salem State College, can be mailed to the Salem State College Wellness Center, 352 Lafayette St., Salem, MA. 01970-5353.
