Yard Sale to be Held at SSC

Salem, Mass. - The Salem State College Peace Institute will hold a yard sale on Saturday, Sept. 21 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the South Campus Gymnasium. Donated items include small furniture, children's toys, sporting goods, and plants.
The Peace Institute organizes campus events for the College community every semester. Funds raised through the yard sale will go toward bringing speakers to the College and publishing an annual newsletter.
Founded in 1982, the SSC Peace Institute is a self-supporting organization that serves members of the local community through efforts that focus on establishing and maintaining worldwide peace. Peace Institute members and Peace Studies students' work together to organize outreach programs such as community service projects, discussion forums, and student workshops.
"The yard sale is a unique way for members of the Peace Institute to make the community aware of their efforts and to raise money for future programs, " said coordinator Krishna Mallick.
