SALEM, Mass. - Members of the Catholic Student Community and the Program Council at Salem State College are organizing a food drive to help feed poor or homeless people at Thanksgiving time.
Working with the St. Joseph Food Pantry and the Crombie Street Mission Church Pantry of Salem, the students are accepting nonperishable food donations from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. through Thursday, Nov. 21 at two locations. Donations can be dropped off at the Program Council Office, located in Room 221 of the Campus Center on the college's Main Campus, or at the Call Center located off the main lobby of the Harrington Building on the college's South Campus.
According to Sister Muriel Lemoine of the Salem State College Interfaith Center, checks made out to the St. Joseph Food Pantry or to the Crombie Street Mission Shelter will also be accepted at the college's Interfaith Center located in room 204 of the Campus Center.
