21st Convocation to feature Professor Farrell

SALEM - Mary Farrell, of Peabody, a professor in the School of Nursing at Salem State College, will be the keynote speaker during the college's 21st convocation at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 7 in the Mainstage Auditorium.
A teacher at Salem State since 1980, Farrell will talk about the importance of ritual to our well-being.
Farrell is a former staff nurse at the Union Hospital in Lynn and the former Lynn Hospital, now the North Shore Medical Center. She is also a former volunteer instructor in Human Sexuality and AIDS programs for middle school youth and parents at St. Ann's Parish in Peabody. She was also a volunteer coordinator of vision and hearing screening for K-8 students at Our Lady of Assumption School in Lynnfield.
College president Nancy Harrington will make opening remarks and students in the honors program will be recognized.
