Small business expo draws big crowd

SALEM - Over 500 members of the local business community attended the Enterprise Center's first Small Business Expo Tuesday, Sept. 24.
Featuring 72 small and large companies on the North Shore, the expo was a "unique opportunity for business owners," according to Operations Administrator Cathy Julien. "Unlike bigger expos, this one gave everybody a comfortable feeling. People were not afraid to go up to the tables," she said. "And small businesses got a chance to mingle with big businesses."
"It went remarkably well," added Julien. "It was well-attended and we're already planning another one for next year."
According to Lori Barton, executive director of the Enterprise Center, "Whether located in the Center or on the North Shore, we are here to help small business take advantage of the existing services and programs that are available to help them grow."
