Ivins reschedules visit to Salem State College

SALEM, Mass. - The appearance of three-time Pulitzer Prize finalist Molly Ivins at the Salem State College Series has been rescheduled for Tuesday, June 5, 2001.

Ivins, co-author of the new best seller, Shrub: The Short but Happy Political Career of George W. Bush, was originally scheduled to appear at the college on Tuesday, April 24. However, due to health concerns and upon the advice of her physician, the nationally syndicated columnist has postponed her visit here.

Salem State College will honor all tickets sold for the April 24 date on June 5. Ticket holders who have a conflict with the new date are being advised to contact the Box Office at (978) 542-7555 by May 15.

Tickets are still available -- $65 for preferred, $40 for reserved and $15 for general admission. Senior and student pricing are also available. The Series box office in Room 204B of Meier Hall will be open through 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 5, for those wishing to purchase tickets in person.

Ivins, whose column is syndicated in more than 200 newspapers, including her home paper, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, is the author of four books and has covered President Bush and the Texas Legislature for many years. Her first book, Molly Ivins Can't Say That, Can She? was on the New York Times bestseller list for one year.
