CLINTON TO SPEAK
AT SALEM STATE

Salem, Mass. - Former
United States President William Jefferson Clinton will appear in a special
presentation of the 19th annual Salem State College Series on Monday,
March 26, at 8 p.m. in the college's O'Keefe Center. Clinton's appearance
at Salem State will be his first public forum in this country since leaving
office last month.
Elected 42nd President of the United States in 1992, and again in 1996, President Clinton was the first Democratic president to be awarded a second term in six decades. He previously served as the Governor of Arkansas, chairman of the national Governors' Association and Attorney General of Arkansas. "This is an extraordinary opportunity for Salem State to friend-raise and fund-raise," said SSC President Nancy D. Harrington. She added, "this will be another historic event for the North Shore community and continues our two-decade long tradition of bringing international newsmakers to our campus." The Series, operating under the auspices of the Salem State College Foundation, is nationally known as a premier college lecture series and has hosted numerous notable former speakers including U.S. Presidents George Bush, Jimmy Carter and Gerald Ford.
